the strange and lonely octopus

At around 12:00 at lunchtime on a Friday at Melbourne Aquarium, there was a lonely white octopus. It was swimming around in a big tank of seawater, but all the people on the outside of the glass were ignoring him. Suddenly, a gentle and soft piano tune started playing through the speakers. Springing from the bottom of the tank, the octopus started dancing along to the piano tune. Spinning around, and waving his tentacles like a dancer in a music video, the octopus was letting go of all his emotions and thoughts. Suddenly all the people noticed him and ran over to the glass, admiring him.

  1. This is a lovely story, Dougie. These prompt words have clearly inspired you. Lots of excellent description in your story, but the bit I like best is ‘Spinning around, and waving his tentacles like a dancer in a music video, the octopus was letting go of all his emotions and thoughts.’ I am sure everyone really did admire him!
